I’m a photographer based in Irvine, California, specializing in landscape, street, and travel photography. Whether I’m wandering through a historic city like Florence or exploring the surreal terrain of Death Valley, photography is what draws me to new places. It gives me a reason to travel, and travel gives me something new to see, frame, and collect.
I’ve always loved collecting things, and photography has long been my favorite form of collecting. Through the lens, I can turn a street corner, a skyline, or a distant mountain into something I can keep and share, a visual souvenir that captures not just how a place looked, but how it felt to be there.
Before a trip, I’ll research the popular attractions and how photographers have captured them before. However, this only provides a basic framework. Often the weather, lighting, and travel conditions dictate what I photograph and which photographs are most successful. It could be a grand cathedral, reflected in the street, wet from nighttime showers. Or it could be the way light hits a clothesline as the sun begins to sink below the buildings. That mix of popular landmarks and local expressions of the mundane is what keeps me inspired.
My work reflects a desire to slow down and notice the world, whether it’s halfway around the globe or just down the road.
